Hello everyone and welcome back to part five of our hormone series. Today I’m gonna talk about what is working with our [00:01:00] clients. So you might be wondering, okay, what, she gives us all this information, you know, but how do we make a change? How do we sort of implement this? How can we work with her?
So I’ve been getting lots of questions about, you know, which program’s right for me? What should I choose? So today I thought I’d sort of talk about, you know, our three sort of key programs. So everything that we’ve talked about in the last couple of weeks across the hormone series, you know, and how this applies to the programs and how we can help you.
So in week one, we talked about, You know how our hormones are changing, how perimenopause and menopause affects us. Week two, we sort of looked at, you know, blood sugar and how the way we regulate our blood sugar has changed and we are more susceptible to blood sugar imbalances. We are more susceptible to insulin, which, you know, can trigger us to lose weight. We looked at, you know, stress in part three, so, you know, and how stress affects us, and [00:02:00] this is huge, and this is something that I, I really just sort of want to bring home again, because the way our body responds to stress is, you know, our health is a direct reflection on that.
So, you know, when we start losing hair, when we start feeling tired all the time, when we can’t sleep at night, we’ve got bloating and digestive issues. When we just feel sluggish, when we start to feel cranky. All of these things, you know, can be driven by stress without us even realising. You know, big one is the weight gain around the middle.
So, you know, how, how do we get on top of this? So that, that was sort of like a big one in week three. And then part four, we looked at, you know, how our body functions because our hormones, you know, impact the way our body responds. So, you know, the things that we used to do in our twenties and thirties, you know, oh, you know, putting on a bit of weight, we’ll just clean up our diets a bit. We’ll just, you know, start going to the gym a bit more. [00:03:00] It doesn’t seem to work. And a lot of the things that are out there in popular, you know, my Facebook feed is filled with keto diets and fasting. And like at the moment, I’ve got these, I was gonna say dickhead, but I’ll call him an idiot, uh, or maybe I won’t call him an idiot. I dunno. What’s the politically correct form for a wanker 20 year old personal trainer who wants to work with menopausal women and he’s doing the ad without his shirt on, which just made me laugh. I just thought, oh honey, and he’s got this creepy mustache, which just, and I’m just thinking any self-respecting, you know, woman who’s lived through the eighties and nineties does not want your creepy, you know, Ron Burgundy mustache mate.
Anyway, that’s a whole other aside. But you know, like all of these things that used to work for us just don’t anymore. So we need to kind of figure out what is the right next step to take. And, you know, this [00:04:00] is where you are welcome to jump on a hormone help call with us because this is where we can have a chat to you about what’s going on with your body.
And what, what’s gonna be the best next step for you, you know? It might well be working with us. It might not be. But you know, I think if you’ve been listening to my podcast now for a while, you know that I’m pretty, you know, down to earth. I’m pretty approachable and I’ll tell you how it is. Like I’ve got no qualms calling a personal trainer a wanker.
So , you know, I’ll tell you how it is ladies. So what we wanna do is, you know, find out what’s right for you. So today in this part five, I just sort of wanted to bring it all together about, you know, what is working for our clients and, you know, if you want to take this next step, you know what we have to offer as well.
Because I’ve sort of realized from the emails coming in that not everyone you know, you don’t all know, I kind of assume that you know what I do and how I can help, but not everyone does. So today I thought I would jump in and it just kind of [00:05:00] like give you, give you the options. So the Well-Balanced Woman Program, that’s our signature 12 week program.
Okay. So this is where, you know, we come in. It’s specifically for, you know, women in their forties and fifties who are having problems with their metabolism, if they’re, you know, feeling exhausted. If you know, you feel out of control of your weight, if you’ve got digestive issues going on, if you are, you know, you know that you are surviving, you know, survival mode, you know, that you are, you can’t get a handle on your stress. This is sort of geared towards you. So we personalize the program for you. We have three sort of across the, the 12 week program we have three one-on-one appointments. We do this over Zoom. So we work with ladies from all around the world, so you don’t have to be in Australia for this.
We, we work with women from everywhere. So what we do is we personalize it. We, [00:06:00] you know, have an initial consultation. We do a hormone assessment for you. We go right through how your body’s working, how you’re sleeping, how you’re managing stress, how your digestive systems functioning. Are you experiencing headaches, migraines.
Do you have body aches and pains, skin issues? Do you have a, you know, have your allergies sort of blown up out of control? So we look at all of these very common sort of hormonal symptoms that are exacerbated in perimenopause and menopause. Then we put together a very specific plan to address these.
So we work through, so first up we look at, you know, how your, you are getting the foundations of food right. So we wanna make sure you’re getting the right balance of food. We wanna make sure, you know, your blood sugar is stable. We wanna make sure, and you know, and this has a knock on effect. Your energy levels are stable, your mood is stable. We get your sugar cravings under control or you know, salt [00:07:00] cravings. So we, we just get those foundations right. Then we move through and we look at, you know, how’s your digestive system working? Because if you are not absorbing the nutrients from your food and you’re not, you know, digesting and you’re not eliminating properly, we are missing the mark. You could have the world’s most perfect diet, but if you are experiencing bloating, constipation, fatigue, diarrhea, heartburn, any sort of, you know, abdominal nausea or discomfort, we need to kind of get on top of that.
And how we do that is we run a food sensitivity test. And the reason I use the particular test that I do, and the reason I do this with every single woman, is we wanna identify the foods that are triggering low grade inflammation in your body. So these are the foods, and it could be foods we would otherwise consider to be healthy.
I’ve had broccoli, chicken, eggs, avocado come up on these tests. So, you [00:08:00] know, we can’t guess those foods. We just assume they’re healthy so we keep eating them, but they may not right be right for our body. So, you know, it’s very individual. So what we wanna do is identify those foods and be able to take those foods out of our, out of our diet, not forever, but just temporarily. The other reason I like this particular diet is, it doesn’t take out whole food groups unnecessarily. So for anyone who’s ever followed a FODMAP diet or had to be on any kind of elimination diet, this is so much easier, let me tell you, because it might come up and it might say, okay sarah, you can’t, you know, cow’s milk isn’t working for you right now, but Sarah, you’re okay to have cheese and yogurt, for instance. So all of a sudden, you know, you are not, oh my God, I have to be dairy free. You are like, oh, okay. So I can’t, won’t have milk, but I’m okay for these other things. Then we test all the alternative milks because I [00:09:00] see so many women jumping down the rabbit hole of almond milk, oat milk, rice milk, all of this stuff, only for that to come up in their test.
So what they’ve been, you know, their alternative that they’ve been choosing hasn’t been right for them either. So, We just wanna take all the guesswork out of it. Then what we wanna do is we want to, yeah, so we’ll get on top of that, that digestive system, make sure that you are absorbing the nutrients, eliminating, we want to get rid of that bloating, get rid of that constipation, get rid of, you know, regulate any sort of IBS that’s swinging.
We’ve had huge success with, with IBS, with the program and also with the test. Then we wanna make sure, how’s your liver functioning? Because if your liver is sluggish, you are going to be sluggish, right? So we wanna make sure that your, you know, and think of it. You know, this is, I’m gonna get really sexy here.
When we lose weight in, you know, in a [00:10:00] nutshell, basically our body fat breaks down, our liver processes that body fat, and we poop it out. So, you know, sexy process, hey. But if, if our liver is sluggish, our weight loss is gonna be sluggish. Okay? So if we’ve given our liver a pounding, okay, so we’ve come out the other side of Christmas, you know, I’ll put my hand up, you know, guilty of overindulging in all the fun stuff, but it’s, you know, we need to sort of look after that liver and just reduce the load on it so it’s not a, a matter of going on a crazy lemon detox or anything like that.
We just wanna sort of reduce the load on our liver and give it the nutrients it needs to do its job.
So, so it’s very specific the order that we work through. So we get the foundations right. We look at your digestive system, we look at, you know, your liver and your detox pathways, cause this is where we clear those hormones, we balance those hormones. So by supporting our liver, we’re supporting our hormones. So it keeps our hormones balanced, it keeps our thyroid functioning the way it should do, converts that active thyroid hormone, and everything works the way it should. So a healthy body that functions [00:12:00] well, that is, you know, low inflammation, you know, or you know, we’ve lost that inflammation.
You know, a healthy body will naturally lose weight. As opposed to going on a diet to lose weight. So what we wanna do, we’re creating that healthy body, but across the whole program, we look at the mindset pieces and the lifestyle pieces. And this is where we want to change the way your body responds to stress.
We wanna take it out of that fight or flight mode, relax it, calm it down. So no matter what life throws at us because we can’t avoid what’s happening outside our, our front door. You know, whatever happens our response to what is happening is calm. Our stress response is calm. That means our cortisol levels are down, and that means a healthier body.
It means better moods. It means, you know, better sleep, better digestion, and you know, if weight loss is a goal, easier weight loss as well. So unless we calm the [00:13:00] farm, everything else is still going to be, you know a battle. So that’s what we do in the 12 Weight Well-Balanced Woman program. So we have a look at, yeah, we have, we personalize it for specifically where you are at.
We take into consideration medications you’re on, supplements you’re taking any, you know, if you’ve had cancer treatment, if you’ve got an autoimmune condition, if you’ve been diagnosed with a medical condition, we work with where you’re at and with what we’ve got too.
So we, and this is where we’re all different, so we’re all starting at a different starting spot. And this is why, you know, one size fits all, diet kind of approaches don’t work. So that’s our well-balanced woman program. So very high touch. So we are there, we check in with you personally to make sure that you are on track, that you’re feeling good, you know, and we are there to sort of pick up the pieces if things go sideways.
And across 12 weeks, things go sideways, left, right, and center all the time. So we’re there to help.[00:14:00] We have those three appointments. We have, you know, weekly catch up, so we do a live coaching call every week. So you get to connect with other women on a similar journey as well. So it’s, it’s really fun and you know, you know me right now. It’s fun. If it’s not fun, it’s too serious and then too serious, it’s too boring and you know we’re not gonna do it. So yeah, we wanna keep it fun. We wanna keep it, another thing that’s really important is keeping it in bite size chunks so you are not feeling overwhelmed. Most of the women who join our program are busy women.
We’ve got a lot going on. So, you know, I’ve got three teenage kids, work full-time in my business, you know, I know what busy looks like, so we wanna keep those pieces, you know, short, bite-size and build on small changes over time because it’s that consistency that gets the results for our clients. Okay, so then on the other side, if we flip that around, we’ve got weight loss wisdom.
Now, if you think [00:15:00] of weight loss wisdom is our get in, get it off. It’s our down and dirty weight loss program. So we jump in, we start off with a 10 day kickstart, and this is where we, you know, undergo sort of a bit of a detox. We take a step back from, you know, all the, all the, the fun things. So the caffeine, the alcohol, the sugar, just for 10 days just to sort of give our body a bit of a break.
Then we jump in and we, you know, it’s rapid weight loss. So supported. So you have got myself and my team of nutritionists there, it includes the supplements that you need to get you to that result. It is fully supported and fully supervised by us. And this is for the women who, you know, don’t have too much hormonally going on.

We’re not looking at getting you back, you know, to anything that’s unhealthy.
But we do want you feeling good in your own skin.
